Is Erased Worth Watching?

Erased aka Boku Dake ga Inai is a Japanese manga series by Kei Sanbe, which was later released in an animated version. Here I’ll be telling you why Erased is a must-watch anime.

First, let me tell you what Erased is all about.

Erased Anime

Satoru Fujinuma is a 29-year-old protagonist of the series. He has a special ability which he calls “Revival”. From this ability, he is able to travel back in time before any of the bad incidents happen so that he can correct them.

Nevertheless, if he wants to do it or not. He has to find a proper solution to fix the incident for him to return back to his normal time. Once on such an incident, he gets revived back 18 years early from 2006 to 1988. Now he has to figure out why he was revived back 18 years and fill in the dots as to how his current year’s actions are related to the one which will be held in the future.

Here are my top 5 reasons to watch Erased

erased anime

1. The characters

Erased is one of the best anime which gives you chills from the very first episode. If you’re new to anime then this is the best one to start with.

Erased has interesting characters like Satoru and Kayo. Both show a very catchy characteristic which helps to grab the attention of the viewer very quickly like if you see the first episode you’re already obsessed with Satoru and his situation makes you more sympathetic towards him.

Kayo a young school girl going through abuse at home and having a very toxic environment in her school makes her catchy to the viewer and makes you feel what she’s feeling every day. Understanding the characters and getting to know them is not hard you will get the gist of it from the very beginning and won’t be hard to understand.

These viewer-friendly catchy characters are very important in a mystery anime that too if it’s a Mini-Series, which this show excels at.

2. The story

It’s hard not to give up the main plot and explain this part. The story revolves around the boy Satoru with his powers going back to 1988 to solve the accident which caused trouble in his future.

When he travels back, we get to see a new world of his childhood, where you go along his past and get to see how his past revolves around him as a haunted ghost for his future and how his ties with certain characters made his life miserable.

The story behind Kayo and her struggles, a certain character let’s call it “X” its shocking reveal and its attachment with the protagonist which leads to an amazing twist makes this series a jaw-dropper.

The subjects which are shown in the show are very serious and can be related to actual incidents.

3. The mystery

Well, this is a mystery-based anime so obviously, it has to be amazing. To be honest, few of you will be able to guess the antagonist easily, but!! It doesn’t mean the thrill is gone.

The way the story is built up and how the characterization is done you won’t be able to stop yourself until you end up at the last episode. The sheer intensity will grab the viewer’s interest to the very last episode and make you sit at the edge of your sit after every episode.

4. The Music

The music is an important aspect for a thrilling aspect. Boy oh, boy does this show deliver amazing music. Yuki Kajiura did an excellent job. Am telling you, watch this series with your headset on with a covered environment you will feel the feels like It’s happening to you and you’re in the scene.

You can feel the coldness of the situation on your neck, which can be delivered only through a piece of good music for such a chilling anime.

5. Lastly “The message”

This is one of the anime where the intentions are clear and which can’t be taken lightly. Satoru made a good relationship with his friends which led to a good cause. So having proper people around you is important in your life

There’s also abuse gone through Kayo which is not to be taken lightly as so many people around the world go through this every day. It can be in your own neighborhood who knows. So spreading proper awareness about it is important.

Satoru trusted an X person blindly and fell into his own grave. So trusting someone so deeply is not good for oneself. Without having proper knowledge about the opposite person it’s not safe to share your feelings or private matters.
